The Cross of Jesus was so powerful, it destroyed sin at the root.
The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! – John 1:29.
Before He died, Jesus said, ‘it is finished!’ He destroyed the one thing that separated us from the Father.
And when the Spirit comes, He will convict the world of sin and righteousness and judgment; of sin, that they do not believe Me. – John 16:8-9.
The one sin that separated us from God – the only sin He is concerned about – is that people don’t believe Him.
In the garden, Adam believed the lie of the enemy instead of what God told Him. That was the root of his actions. He committed sin after he believed the lie.
God deals with everything at the root. We see this when Jesus walked the earth. In one place, He told the paralytic on the pallet that his sins were forgiven. He could have just told him to get up and go home.
God took us all to the cross in Jesus and raised us up in Him. We’re now seated at His right hand in Jesus. This is not because we earned it, but because He loves us. He pours His grace over our life because He loves us.
For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. – Romans 6:14
