Sonship is central to understanding our identity in Christ. It’s more than just a theological term or an abstract idea—it’s a transformative reality that defines our relationship with God the Father. As believers, we are called sons of God (John 1:12), not in a gender-specific way, but as a statement of our intimate connection and oneness with Him. Embracing your sonship is the key to walking in the fullness of your identity in Christ (Romans 8:14). It shifts your understanding of who you are and how you relate to God from a distant servant or follower or a beloved child to a joint heir with Christ. This identity redefines your experiences, interactions, and how you perceive yourself and others.
What does it mean to truly live free? Often, we believe freedom is about external circumstances—where we live, what we do, or how we interact with others. But real freedom comes from within. It starts by understanding that you are a New Creation, liberated from the constraints of the old nature and empowered to live from your true spiritual identity. Let’s explore how embracing your New Creation identity shifts your consciousness, elevating you to a realm of divine possibilities and transforming your life in every aspect. This freedom is not a concept but a living reality that redefines your experiences, decisions, and purpose on earth.

When a father loves his child, the child experiences all that love in every way. The Father loves you! It is His good pleasure to make your life perfect in every way. When you realise that, you begin to cooperate with His way of doing things and avoid jumping the gun in impatience. He has prepared only goodness in your life-path and all He wants you to do is get to know Him. When you know Him you will begin to identify His nature in you and see His goodness laid out for you. When you identify His nature, you will know how He operates, and that will give you every reason to cooperate with Him.
You are born-again of Water and Spirit. By virtue of your new birth, you are IN the Spirit by default. You are IN the Spirit at all times. He’s the world you now inhabit. There is no other reality for you. Now it’s about cultivating your senses to tune into the realm that we were oblivious to for so long. It’s easy… especially when we come to terms with the truth that we are spirit. Grow in your identity. Know who you are. You are as Jesus is!
You are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God inhabits you… – Romans 8:9. The New Man is predominantly spirit, as it was in the garden. This is how it is supposed to be now. Life is about consciously living what you believe. It’s about letting your identity manifest. The flesh is only our point of contact to a physical realm. We are created to live in the Spirit and manifest eternity in the world. Our identity is who Jesus is. We are an exact representation of Him, as He is the exact representation of the Father.
God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. – 1John 1:5. Jesus is the true Light, who is everyone’s light… – John 1:9. You are the light of the world… – Matthew 5:14. Jesus is Light. We are one with the Light. We are Light. Light and darkness cannot coexist in the same space. It’s simply not possible. We inhabit the Light and in us no darkness can dwell. We expel darkness everywhere we go. We are the light this world experiences.
There are generally 2 sources from where we get information. Our mind receives information from the 5 senses – that’s one source.
The Armour of God is the state of existence in which the New Man dwells. It is a conscious state of being in which we are called to ‘stand’ and rest. Put on the new man, which is created according to God in righteousness and true holiness. – Ephesians 4:24. It’s not something we take off and put on again… it’s the way we are created. – We have come to the knowledge of the truth by which we have been set free. (John 14:6)
Intercessory Prayer is not a desperate call to God for action! It’s a proclamation of God’s perfect will into manifestation, to a physical world. It’s the pronouncement of God’s will, by sons, in union with the Spirit, that manifests spiritual realities. Sons inhabit the Spirit – in the state of existence where all things are perfect and complete. From that state of being, we declare what must take place in the physical realm!
How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? – Hebrews 9:14. The life of all flesh is in the blood. The wages of sin is death! The shedding of blood in the old covenant represented the death of the sacrifice in the place of the sinner. His conscience of every sin committed during the course of the previous year was cleansed of guilt. This was a temporary sacrifice made annually until he died.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God – Romans 12:1-2. All of God’s will is good, acceptable and perfect. There are no 3 different wills of God. It’s just one will. You are His will!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. – 1 Peter 1:3. Hope for the New Man is not of uncertainty. It’s an assurance of the promises of a loving Father. Sons don’t hope for something that has no definite outcome. Our hope is founded on the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
A new heart also will I give you, and a new Spirit will I put within you… – Ezekiel 36:26. The New Man has received the Spirit of God. We are one with Him. He is the Spirit of power, and love, and soundness of mind. Empowered by the Holy Spirit we have nothing to fear. We have the Godhead indwelling us.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. – 1 John 4:4.
…I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. – Ezekiel 36:26-27 (KJV) A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – 2Corinthians 5:17.
Isaiah 54:17 says: ‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.’ Before Jesus, the enemy had a weapon he could use against us and accusations he could beat down and overcome us with (see previous post)… He is the god of this world (a right he took from Adam) and has dominion over those subject to this world.
The Book of Jude tells us to ‘keep ourselves in the Love of God…’ God’s love assures us of His ever-abounding fulness in our life. He is always for us. He is not the hide-and-go-seek kind of father. He said that He will never leave us nor forsake us. if we realise and experience the kind of love He has for us, we will realise that He is never more than a heartbeat away from us. We are his heartbeat! We are so loved by Him, every thought in His mind is about us.
It’s the fruit of the Spirit.. it’s not our fruit! The fruit of the Spirit is not ours to bear – it is the Spirit of God within us who bears the fruit and manifests it. All that’s required from us is to let Him do it! We are made one with the Spirit of God. That is what being born again means. We have received the Life of God and now we are one with that Life. The Fruit Of The Spirit are by-products of being born again. We cannot be filled with the Spirit and not be filled with the fruit. It’s another thing, that we tend to interfere with the manifestation of the fruit – but it’s all placed within our being.
If someone you know tells you something you know is a lie, you’d pass it off as what it really is – a lie. You know better than to believe lies. Even though it was told you, and you heard it, it still remains a lie. You’d have to act on it to make happen. Until you do something about it, it remains unproductive. In the same way, our mind has been trained over the years to believe what this physical world tells us, instead of what God tells us by His Spirit and Word. We’ve come to believe that the physical, more tangible world is our primary source of information and truth – IT’S NOT. Our world is Eternity. That’s our truth.
You cannot be any more like Jesus than you are now. You are exactly as He is… He destroyed all imperfections, weakness and flaws at the cross. He became our inadequacies so we could be complete. You are perfect in everything. You are flawless, whole, indestructible. You are one with the Spirit of Life. You are soaking abundant Life. There is no deterioration or decay of any form in Abundant Life.
Our citizenship is from Heaven.. we’re not of this world, just as Jesus is. Our home is the Father. We live and move and have our being IN Him. Abiding in Him gives us the ability and authority to manifest all His glory to this fallen world and proclaim Him. The fabric of our being is soaked in the very life of who He is. We’re made of Him – we’re Spirit. We’re made in His Image and likeness – according to Him in righteousness and true Holiness – Ephesians 4:24 (KJV) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. We cannot be any more like Him – we’re exactly as He is. We’re His sons.
Grace is about God and His nature. It is not a concept, neither is it something that can be understood through our mental faculties. The true revelation of grace comes by a relationship with the Father through Jesus. Grace is an experience of the goodness of God. It is something we are living in, as new creation. Grace is the life of the New Man.
Righteousness is a state of being. It is our nature and the most fundamental attribute of our New Creation Identity. This righteousness helps us get into a personal relationship with Jesus because we know He sees us as He is. As citizens of Heaven our very nature is manifested in this world from that seat of ‘true righteousness and holiness.’ When we realise the righteousness we have been established in, our confidence to dominate this physical reality grows. This is our Identity.
Your mind may periodically paint a reality with information it gathers from our physical world and it’s different from what your Father tells you. It’s not the truth and it doesn’t matter! It doesn’t matter if it comes into your mind, it doesn’t matter if you still think about it. You are spirit — that’s your reality. That’s all you know, and it’s all that matters. Your reality is what your new nature tells you, not what your mind says!
However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you… and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority… — Romans 8:9; Colossians 2:10. This world can add nothing to you, and it can take nothing away from you! You are spirit. Your existence is Spirit. Your physical presence here is the connecting link between Eternity and this physical world. Physical creation manifested out of Eternity.
Life is about being aware of Him. It takes absolutely NO effort on your part to make yourself aware of Him. He creates that awareness for you. Every time your mind takes you to Him, or you find yourself thinking of God, its Him making you aware. Your response will be to enjoy Him and live Him. This awareness is the experience of the reality of eternity — the experience of the reality of the Father as lived by Jesus. He is making you aware of the Father.
